On December 10, 2025, the SFU Academic Freedom Group, on behalf of concerned faculty members, submitted feedback on the new faculty hiring guidelines to Faculty Relations at SFU. The “Guidelines for Recruitment of Members of the Faculty Association”, published in August 2025, still conflicted on several items related to Academic Freedom.
Here is the letter, which was signed by 35 faculty members from across FSU.
