Their conversation will model the Heterodox Way of transforming disagreement into a constructive tool for generating knowledge and seeking truth. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn to value and embrace diverse perspectives. See you there!

Speaker Bios

Geoff Horsman is an Associate Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University and co-chair of Laurier’s Heterodox Academy Campus Community. His research focuses on how microorganisms – as some of nature’s most masterful chemists – make interesting small molecules like antibiotics. He also investigates and writes about the effects of politicizing science, especially through equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) policies.

Jeffrey Sachs is a continuing instructor at Acadia University, where he specializes in academic freedom, education politics, and Middle Eastern law. Since 2021, he has been a senior consultant and research fellow with PEN America and has written widely on campus free speech issues in Canada and the United States.
