Wade Parkhouse (Provost and Vice-President Academic, pro tem) sent an email on Feb. 8 saying that he will be reviewing the profile of the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Learning & Teaching (AVPLT) position. Disturbingly, the current profile is silent on the role of the AVPLT to protect instructors’ and student’s academic freedom and to foster a culture of respectful, open dialogue both inside and outside of the classroom.
